ETHICS AND IMPACT

A unique aspect of our project is its lack of potential ethical issues. Our suit does not require animal testing, genetic modification, or any scientific aspects or requirements which may infringe on any ethical grounds; the LBNP suit is simply and solely a suit designed to help bring humankind's dream of long-duration spaceflight a reality.

Furthermore, the use of the suit extends beyond use in spaceflight. LBNP as a whole is also clinically useful, such as aiding patients suffering from head trauma while en route to the hospital. By reducing blood flow to the head using LBNP, first responders could use the suit to limit intracranial bleeding before the patient can be surgically treated.
